Guidance Financial Services recognises that business owners and those who are self employed, have unique financial planning needs.  Unlike their employee friends, the self employed need to make active decisions about their superannuation savings.  Their insurance needs are broader, recognising that there is no “head office” to bail them out in times of adversity.  Those running a business are the busiest people around.  Finally, business owners often have greater opportunities to combine wealth creation and tax minimisation strategies.

Guidance is lead by Paul Benson.  Paul is passionate about business and entrepreneurialism.  He has over 20 years experience in the finance industry, and has been advising clients on their financial planning needs since 1998.  Paul holds a Bachelor of Business in Economics & Finance, has acheived CFP status within the Financial Planning sector, and is a SPAA accredited Self Managed Superannuation Fund Specialist Adviser, the highest form of professional recognition in the SMSF sector.  Paul has recently been engaged by education provider IIT to write the course material for their Principles of Self Managed Superannuation course, a course developed for qualified financial planners looking to step up into the SMSF environment.

Paul is supported by retirement specialist Graeme Head.  Graeme has been advising financial planning clients for 12 years, and before that worked at Centrelink for 24 years.  Graeme has also gained CFP status, and is a highly regarded expert in the area of nursing homes, helping many clients optimise financial arrangements for themselves or more commonly their parents.

Paul and Graeme are supported in their advisory services by a dedicated team of support staff.

As at 1 January 2010, Guidance managed over $78million on behalf of its clients.  Guidance has offices in Essendon and Ringwood in Melbourne.
